The Prime-Minister, António Costa, stated "Portugal’s support to the United Nations’ reform undertaken by its Secretary-General", António Guterres, in a meeting aside the 72nd General Assembly of the organisation.

The Prime-Minister said that "it was a warm working meeting, in Portuguese, with the Secretary-General of the United Nations" where "we spoke about Portugal’s contributions to peace operations and 2030 agenda, in particular, concerning the oceans’ subject".

During the meeting, several themes related to the community of Portuguese-speaking countries were also referred, as the various conflicts that are active all around the world.
