Biography
Eduardo Cabrita was born in Barreiro, in 1961.
He graduated in Law in Faculdade de Direito of Universidade
de Lisboa (1979-84) and was approved in the 1st phase of the first PhD program
at Faculdade de Direito of Universidade Nova de Lisboa.
He was lecturer of Public Finance and Tax Law in Faculdade de
Direito de Lisboa between 1982 and 1988, and member of the board of Faculdade
de Direito de Lisboa in 1984/85.
He was member of youth interministerial commission in 1985.
He was adviser of the Secretary of State for Local
Administration in 1984/85.
He was inspector of finance from General Inspection of
Finance since 1985, having nowadays the category of Superior Inspector of
Finance.
He was advisor of the Assistant Secretary for Justice of
Macau government in 1988/89.
He was lecturer in Faculdade de Direito of Universidade de
Macau in 1988/90.
He was permanent expert of Portuguese Representation in the
Portugal-China work group on Macau, between 1989 and 1996.
He was director of the office for juridical translation of
Macau government in 1989/96 and lecturer in the magistrate’s formation center
in 1995/96.
He was high commissioner of the Comission for the Support of
Restructuring equipment and Territorial Administration between 1995 and 1999.
He was Secretary of State Assistant to the Minister of Justice
between 1999 and 2002.
He was president of Assembleia Municipal do Barreiro between
2002 and 2006.
He was member of the Parliament between 2002 and 2005 and
since 2009. Between 2011 and 2015, he was chairman of the Parliamentary
Committee on Budget, Finance and Public Administration.
He was Secretary of State of Local Government between 2005
and 2009.
