Accident of a Chile Air Force aircraft

It was with deep sorrow that the Portuguese Government took note of the confirmation of absence of survivors following the disaster of a Chile Air Force aircraft, which was carrying 38 people to the Chilean scientific research base of Presidente Eduardo Frei Montalva, in Antarctica. This is a region where Portugal has been collaborating with Chile in joint research activities, within the Portuguese Polar Program framework.

The Portuguese Government presents its most sincere condolences to the families of the victims and expresses its profound solidarity towards the people and authorities of Chile in this moment of sorrow.
