Government offers free communications services to Ukrainian refugees

The Government signed a cooperation agreement with the Electronic Communications Service Provider Association (APRITEL) and its associates MEO, NOS and Vodafone, as well as with the communications service provider NOWO, to offer electronic communications services to temporary protection recipients from Ukraine on national soil.

In total, 16 thousand communications cards will be distributed (Altice – 5 000; NOS – 5 000; NOWO – 1 000; VODAFONE - 5 000) at the starts identified by the service providers, upon proof of ID and the case number issued by the Borders and Immigration Service SEF, and by filling out a form created for the purpose.

Under this agreement, citizens of age will have access every month (for three months) to:

- 500 minutes of voice calls to Portuguese land lines and mobile numbers

- 200 minutes of voice calls to Ukrainian land lines and mobile numbers

- 5 GB of data communications

- 10 GB of data communications for messaging apps.

With this initiative, which involves the Government areas of Digitalisation and Administrative Modernisation, Civil Protection, Equality and Migration and Infrastructures, the Government intends to ease and promote Ukrainian citizens’ communications with their country of origin and their integration in Portugal.
