Isabel Cordeiro was born in Lisbon in 1966.

She was Director General for Cultural Heritage (DGPC) from 2012 to 2014.
She was Director of the Queluz National Palace from 2008 to 2012.
Head of the Department to Disclose and Assist Visitors to Sintra Parks -Monte da Lua, S.A., from 2005 and 2008.
She was deputy director general of the Portuguese Museum Institute from 2002 to 2005.
She was Head of the Inventory Department of the Portuguese Museum Institute from 1998 to 2002.
She was Chief of Cabinet of the Secretary of State for Culture in the 13th Government under the 1976 democratic constitution.
