Paulo Cafôfo was born in in 1971.
He graduated in History from the University of Coimbra Faculty of Letters in 1995.
He is a History Professor who has taught at several schools in the Madeira Autonomous Region, alongside several leadership roles in Executive and Pedagogical Boards.
He was Mayor of Funchal from 2013 to 2019.
He was President of AMRAM – Association of Municipalities of the Madeira Autonomous Region and CMU – Confederation of Ultraperipheral Municipalities.
Member of Parliament in the Madeira Regional Legislative Assembly since 2019.
He was elected Chairman of PS (Socialist Party) Madeira on 25 July 2020, in the greatest ever voting since the party was created. He held the post until February 2022.
