Isabel Oneto was born in Lisbon in 1959.
She has a Law degree (1996) and a master’s in Legal-Criminal Science (2002).
She was a Member of Parliament from 2009 to 2022 and was on the Parliamentary Committee for Constitutional Affairs, Rights, Freedoms and Guarantees. She was a member of the Supervisory Council for the Integrated Criminal Information System from 2010 to 2014.
She was Civil Governor of the Porto District from 2005 e 2009 and was a councillor at Porto City Council from 2001 a 2005.
She was assistant professor of Law at Porto Lusófona University and also worked as a journalist from 1979 to 2000.
Deputy Secretary of State and for Home Affairs in Prime Minister António Costa’s 1st Government.
