Pedro Duarte

Pedro Duarte was born in Porto on 12 July 1973.

He holds a PhD in Development Studies from the University of Lisbon School of Economics and Management (ISEG), a master’s in international economics and European Studies, a Law Degree, and an MBA.

He was at Microsoft, where he worked in the Corporate, External & Legal Affairs unit and the European Government Affairs Team since 2011.

In March 2023 he became Executive Vice-President of the Portuguese Corporate Confederation (CIP), where from 2018 he was Chairman of the Strategic Board on Digital Economy.

He was elected member of Parliament (1999-2011), member of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, and Secretary of State for Youth (2002-2004). He was national campaign director in Prof. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa first presidential campaign (2016).
