The Government has provided an overall 40-million-euro assistance, as a non-refundable grant, to restore the production in the farms hit by storm Kristin.
The measure is for farms that recorded losses of more than 30% of their production capacity, with eligible investments from 5 thousand to 400 thousand euros. Investments up to 10 thousand euros will be 100% refunded. For investments greater than 10 thousand euros, the assistance is 80% for recipients with agricultural insurance and 50% for farms that are not insured.
The applications are put forward through the website PEPAC in the mainland, and expenses borne since the date of the event are eligible following verification of the losses by the Regional Coordination and Development Commissions (CCDR).
"The Government reiterates its commitment to respond quickly and effectively to the natural disaster situations", stresses the Minister of Agriculture and Maritime Affairs José Manuel Fernandes, adding: "No one will be alone".
