The Portuguese Prime Minister Luís Montenegro claimed that the Government is closely monitoring the situation caused by the big earthquakes that struck Venezuela and ensured that Portugal is prepared to send emergency relief and humanitarian aid.

In a post on X, the Prime Minister noted the ties between both countries and sent a support message to the populations struck. "The Government is following the situation closely and is ready to send emergency relief and humanitarian aid."

Luís Montenegro also stressed that “the impressive power of the earthquakes that struck Venezuela unites us all around a country that many Portuguese people call home".

The Prime Minister likewise left “a world of support and full solidarity” with Venezuela and the Venezuelan people, as well as with the Portuguese people and Luso-descendants who reside in the country.
