Lisbon will host the 37th Conference and Annual Exhibition of the European Association for International Education (EAIE), considered to be the main European conference on higher education and one of the largest in the world, from 7 to 10 September 2027.

The event will be held at FIL and represents a milestone for the internationalisation of Portuguese higher education, boosting the national institutions’ international projection, academic cooperation, and the exchange of good practice in the European and global context.

Under the theme “Luminous Perspectives”, the 2027 edition intends to celebrate the diversity of ideas, perspectives, and experiences that characterise and strengthen the higher education sector.

The 2025 edition, held in Gothenburg, gathered more than 7 thousand participants, 700 exhibitors, and around 240 training session with 28 Portuguese higher education institutions in attendance.
