Prime Minister stresses the role of Portuguese language in building bridges

The Prime Minister Luís Montenegro noted today that Portuguese language allows building bridges between hundreds of million people in the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries and in every corner of the globe.

“Today, we celebrate World Portuguese Language Day. Plural, diverse, and open to the word, is it constantly renewed and allows us to build bridges between hundreds of million Portuguese speakers, in the and in all the corne4rs of the globe”, said the Prime Minister on a post on X.

Luís Montenegro also stressed that the language brings together all those for whom i tis a mother tongue and those who, in dozens of countries, learn it in all levels of schooling.

“They are a growing number because ours is a language of the future: global science, culture, the economy and innovation increasingly speak Portuguese. Long Live Portuguese Language!”, he noted.

The CPLP has been celebrating World Portuguese Language and Culture Day on 5 May since 2009.
