Prime Minister wishes António José Seguro "greatest success" at the start of his presidential term
The Portuguese Prime Minister Luís Montenegro attended the formal session for António José Seguro’s inauguration to become President of the Republic, which was held this morning in Parliament.
In a message posted on his social media, the Prime Minister wished the Head of State "the greatest success in the term that began today" and showed his confidence in a "loyal and productive" institutional and political cooperation.
Luís Montenegro added that he is certain this cooperation will contribute to "guaranteeing stability, prosperity, and social justice", stressing the principle of placing "Portugal and the Portuguese people above all else".
António José Seguro was sworn in before Parliament after having been elected President of the Republic in the second round of the presidential elections on 8 February.
