RRF reprogramming approved and 9th payment request submitted
The European Commission approved on 18 May Portugal’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF) reprogramming, which enabled the 9th payment request to be submitted.
This approval, which does not alter the RRF’s allocation, boosts the plan’s capacity for adaptati9on, maintains its strategic ambition intact, and ensures the investments that are fundamental for the economy’s modernisation are made, as well as boosting the twin energy and digital transition and improving living conditions for the Portuguese people.
The 9th payment request, submitted on the same day, includes 51 targets and milestones in strategic areas such as social responses, corporate innovatio9n, qualifications, the digital transition, Public Administration efficiency, environmental and energy sustainability, and the Portuguese economy’s competitiveness.
With this request, the RRF’s execution reaches 75%, confirming the solid place of the plan’s application. Portugal was the second country to submit the 9th payment request.
The validation by the European Commission of the one before last payment request allows Portugal to receive around 2.321 billion euros (net pre-funding amount), 1.859 billion of which are grants and 462 are loans, meaning that the payments received by Portugal amount to 78% of the approved allocation.
Another decisive step to meet one of the largest public investment and social and economic transformation programmes for the country is now taken.
