the thoughts of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the EU on these
important matters: connectivity, multimodality and modal shift for more
sustainable modes of transport.

We know that decarbonisation of
transport is one of the essential pillars of this change, as transport is
responsible for 25% of the total greenhouse gas emissions in the EU-27, the
second highest polluting sector.»
