Graça Fonseca

Graça Fonseca was born in Lisbon in 1971.

She has a PhD in Sociology from ISCTE - Instituto Universitário de Lisboa; MA in Sociology from Faculdade de Economia da Universidade de Coimbra; Graduated in Law from Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa.

She was a researcher at Centro e Estudos Sociais, Faculdade de Economia da Universidade de Coimbra (1996 to 2000)

She was City Councillor at the Lisbon Municipality, taking on responsibility for Economy, Innovation, Education and Administrative Reform (2009 and 2015)

She was Chief of Staff for the Minister of State and Home Affairs and the Secretary of State of Justice, in the Government (2005-2008).

She was Deputy Director for the Ministry of Justice's Office of Legislative Policy and Planning (2000 and 2002).

Graça Fonseca was member of the Government, first as Deputy Minister and Secretary of State for Administrative Modernization (2015-2018), and later as Minister of Culture (2018–currently).
