Margarida Blasco

Margarida Blasco was born in Castelo Branco on 25 July 1956.

She holds a Law Degree from the University of Lisbon School of Law, graduated in 1978.

She has been a Judge, a Senior Judge, and a Counseller Judge, retired.

She was General Coordinator of Cooperation with the Portuguese-Speaking Countries in the Ministry of Justice from 1991 to 1993.

Margarida Blasco was Vice-President of the Portuguese Cooperation Institute from 1994 to 1996.

Member of the Portuguese Republic Intelligence Services’ Oversight Counsil from 1999 to 2004.

Head of the Portuguese Security Intelligence Service from 2004 to 2005.

Inspector-General for Home Affairs (IGAI) from 2012 to 2019.
