António Mendonça Mendes was born in Coimbra in 1976, and graduated in Law from the University of Coimbra, legal-economic mention, in 1999.
He was advisor to the Secretary of State for Justice (1999-2002).
He was a lawyer at Gonçalves Pereira, Rato, Ling, Vong & Cunha, at Macao Special Administrative Region (2003-2005).
He was Chief of Staff of the Secretary of State for Transport (2005-2008).
He was in-house lawyer for the Geocapital business group (2008-2009).
He was Chief of Staff of the Minister of Health (2009-2011).
He was director at Refer - Rede Ferroviária Nacional, EPE, with responsibilities in the areas of Human Capital, Legal Affairs and Organization (2011-2013).
He was a lawyer and partner at André, Miranda e Associados – Sociedade de Advogados, in Lisbon (2014-2017).
He also held the positions as Chairman of the Conciliation Commission of the North-South Axis Rail Operation Contract (2009) and appointed Member by the Assembly of the Republic in the Superior Council of Justices of the Peace (since 2015).
He was Secretary of State for Tax Affairs from 2017 to 2019.
