Nuno Melo

Nuno Melo was born in Joane, Vila Nova de Famalicão, on 18 March 1966. 

He holds a Law degree from the Portucalense Infante D. Henrique University School of Law. 

He has been Chairman of CDS-PP since April 2022. 

He was elected member of Parliament in several Governments between 1999 and 2009 and was elected President of the CDS-PP Parliamentary Group in July 2004. From 2007 to 2009, he was Vice-President of Parliament. 

He was head of the CDS-PP list for the 2009 European elections and was re-elected in 2014 and in 2019. He was a member of the European Parliament until 2024.
